Librarians obsolete now?

With Codex Inquisition out allowing Imperials Access to cheap Psykers with Divination what use is there for Librarians any more?  Codex Marines get the biggest boost because now Imperial Fists(benefit the most) can get access to Prescience(and the rest of Divination) for their Devastators.  Ignores Cover on Tank Hunting Lascannons?  Not as reliable as one would hope, but Prescience on Tank Hunting Lascannons is scary enough


Now what about Codices that already have access to Divination? Well, the stock Librarian isn't anything special in stats and is 65pts+ a Bare Bone Inquisitor with a Mastery Level is 55pts so for at a minimum for the same cost you pick up 3 Servo Skulls which are now everybody's favorite toy for stopping infiltrators and Scouts. GKs have already had these options so nothing new for them, except it lets them save a couple HQ slots for actual GKs.

Okay well what if you want more than just a Cheap Twinlinker for a Heavy Weapons Squad? Well Mastery Level 2 raises the cost to over 100pts.  What is so special about the 100pt threshold? Coteaz.  Inquisitor Coteaz will be the number 1 inclusion in Allied Inquisition.  Mastery Level 2(highest available in this codex) Rerolling Seize rolls both your own and your opponent's, an extra wound over most Librarians in 40k for perils soaking, 2+ save for wound tanking, His Quasi-interceptor rule, and he can bring cheap scoring units in the form of Henchmen and bringing dedicated transports with them, my favorite being Psykalries(Heavy Bolter Sponson Valkyries with Psybolt, you heard this term here first) and Psyraders (Land Raider Crusaders with Psybolt Ammo and pintlemounted stormbolter). I would love to go into these Dedicated Transports in a future post(and probably will).

Of course every Librarian still has some uses, Rune Priests have their psychic shutdown bubble(this alone makes them great values, despite my fondness of Coteaz and his benefits)  Dark Angels Librarians do have some interesting wargear they can buy as well as the option for Bikes, but Techmarines can do most of it as well.  Blood Angels Running Jump Packs will want Jump Pack Librarians which Inquisitors don't have access to and of course have Mephiston.
